Yoga Therapy

Embodyment® Yoga Therapy uses a gentle hands-on technique that creates deep release at the core of the body. This process involves laying in yoga's relaxation pose, fully supported with blankets. Resting gently in the hands of a trained Yoga Therapist, you have the chance to relax and rejuvenate your entire body.

Chose this therapy to reduce pain and facilitate healing and to accelerate, fine-tune and deepen your personal practice. This hour-long treatment is equivalent to 6 or more yoga classes.

Embodyment® is easy and accessible for people of all levels. It is powerful on its own or to support a regular yoga practice.

In Embodyment®, the therapist acts as a catalyst, assisting in the release of deeply held tensions. The release begins at the lower spine and radiates up and through the entire body. This healing technique activates the client's own power to heal.

Embodyment® has cumulative benefits. Generally, clients receive more benefit if they participate in a series of sessions, ideally once a week for a minimum of 4-5 weeks. Participating in a series gives your body a chance to learn how to integrate and maintain the benefits and changes. This process is greatly enhanced by a regular Svaroopa® Yoga practice.

What to wear? Please wear soft, comfortable, loose clothing for your session. Please avoid blue jeans and other stiff, thick fabrics.

According to IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists®), a definition of Yoga Therapy was developed after their 2007 “Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research”:

“Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the philosophy and practice of Yoga.”

We believe Embodyment® Yoga Therapy is in harmony with this definition.
